Leon Zilbersztajn (Silberstein) (1905–1996) was a businessman and a member of the resistance in the Częstochowa ghetto. In 1930, he founded a metal products factory, “Elzet,” with his wife at 26 Krótka Street, where bicycle parts were mainly produced. During the German occupation, from 1941, he led a worker brigade composed of craftsmen. In the ghetto, he was involved in the resistance, including working outside the ghetto to gather information, which he passed on to other members of the underground movement. He also took part in punishing traitors and informers and acquiring weapons. During the liquidation of the ghetto in 1942, he established a bunker in his factory, where 21 people found shelter. Some of them survived the occupation.
