Rabbinate Office and Rabbi Nachum Asz’s Residence

The city’s rabbi, Nachum Asz, initially resided at 14 Ogrodowa Street (now Berka Joselewicza Street) before moving to 11 Piłsudski Street. The Rabbinate was also located here, housing the Jewish community’s extensive archives. The Rabbinate’s office, under Rabbi Asz’s direction, hosted the Bet Din court, which settled religious matters and disputes, including private ones.
