On a 6-morg plot of land donated by the city, the Jewish community built the facilities of the Jewish Charitable Society Hospital between 1909 and 1913. The hospital included the main pavilion (with surgical and internal medicine departments) and an outpatient clinic. Later, a pavilion for infectious diseases and two utility buildings were added. The hospital was modernly equipped and located within a spacious park.
