Jewish Junior High School and Arbeitsamt

Established in 1917 on the initiative of Moshe Mokrauer, the Boys’ and Girls’ Junior High Schools of the Society of Jewish High Schools operated in rented facilities at 3a Dąbrowskiego Street until 1938, when they moved into one of the most modern building. Thanks to generosity of local Jews, it was possible to furnish it with new furniture, arrange school offices and classrooms.

During the occupation, the Germans used this facility as an employment office (Arbeitsamt ) and transit camp for Poles sent to Germany.

Podczas okupacji Niemcy urządzili tutaj Arbeitsamt wraz z tymczasowym obozem, gdzie przetrzymywano Polaków wysyłanych na roboty do Niemiec.
