„Jatka”

Near this location was an exit gate to a Jewish labor camp (small ghetto), where Schutzpolizei officers, under Lagerführer Überschär’s command, selected prisoners for transport to Skarżysko and Bliżyn. Those selected were detained in an old meat market and ultimately sent to camps from which they never returned. Each shipment brought more victims: some were killed on the spot during these selections, particularly during the camp’s liquidation on June 26, 1943.
