Frajman Family Hideout

In September 1942, during the liquidation of the Częstochowa ghetto and the deportation of the Jewish population to the Treblinka extermination camp, Hersz Frajman set up a hiding place for his family and friends in the spacious basement of a building at Stary Rynek 24. While staying outside, Hersz monitored the safety of those in hiding and provided them with food. After the operation concluded, he smuggled everyone into the small ghetto (forced labor camp). Thanks to his efforts, several dozen people survived. Hersz Frajman was executed on January 4, 1943, at the Warsaw Market Square (now Bohaterów Getta Square)
