HASAG Warta Labor Camp

This labor camp was established at the turn of July and August of 1944 on the grounds of the former jute products factory Warta. German authorities employed Jewish laborers relocated from Skarżysko. The camp consisted of five blocks, including a hospital and outpatient clinic. Dr. Trejwicz from Białystok, who arrived with Jewish prisoners from Skarżysko, provided assistance and, thanks to smuggled weapons, enabled prisoners to avoid deportation to Germany in January 1945.
