The New Mikveh, built in 1904–1905 under Rabbi Nachum Asz’s initiative, was equipped with modern amenities, including a ritual bath on the ground floor and modern baths with tubs and showers on the upper floor. A canal was constructed to drain water to the Warta River (Częstochowa had no sewage system at that time). During the occupation, the building served as a sanitation facility and an outpatient clinic under Captain (Res.) Dr. Adam Wolberg. Later, during the ghetto’s liquidation, Jewish doctors and their families, as well as families of Jewish police officers, were temporarily housed here. After the war, this was the last Jewish prayer and funeral home in the city until the mid-1970s.
